Thus, the setting up a subsidiary IEI Water-Tech, a Malaysian registered company with technology from Ion Exchange ( India ) Ltd.

Ion Exchange ( India ) Ltd., is the leading water treatment company in India and one of very few in the world with a comprehensive range of technologies, products and services which cover the entire spectrum of water & waste water treatment. They have almost 40 engineers not only in the design and supply but also in the total chain of engineering processes of water and waste water treatment plants, - depending on the needs of the customers. They have supplied more than 30,000 plants around the world of which 400 installations are at thermal and nuclear power plants, refineries, petrochemical plants and other industries. It is the first company in India to make world-class Ion Exchanger Resin in 1964 which won accreditation of ISO 9002 Certification for resin manufacturing plant.

To support the various technologies employed in water and waste water treatment, IEI Water-Tech also offers a wide range of specialized equipment and products. The range includes waste water treatment and recycling plants using various physico-chemical processes for settling, clarification, filtration, disinfection, membrane and ion exchange technology, ion exchange resin; polymers and polyelectrolyte for water and non-water processes; boiler cooling water and fireside treatment chemicals.

The company also provides technical services such as project management, design, construction and commissioning, operation and maintenance of plants and supply of spares.
